SongRave (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a platform that connects live musicians with their audiences through real-time tipping and song requests. This policy describes what information we collect from you, what we do with it, and how you can manage or remove your data. It applies to songrave.com and any associated services we operate.

What We Collect

Information you give us directly

When you sign up for our waitlist or create an account, we collect the information you provide: your email address, artist or band name, and any other details you enter during registration. If you use SongRave as a performing artist, we'll also collect payment information through our payment processor (Stripe) so you can receive tips.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, we collect some technical information automatically. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, device information, referring URL, and how you interact with our pages. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns and how people use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies on your browser and collects anonymized usage data. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

Payment data

We don't store your credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers. All payment processing runs through Stripe, which handles card data under their own PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. We receive limited transaction records (amounts, timestamps, last four digits of a card) for bookkeeping and dispute resolution.

How We Use Your Information

• Running the service: processing tips, displaying song requests, managing your account, and paying out earnings.
• Communicating with you: sending beta invitations, product updates, transactional emails (like payout confirmations), and occasional announcements about new features. Every marketing or non-transactional email includes an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we stop. No questions, no hoops.
• Improving SongRave: analyzing usage patterns to fix bugs, improve performance, and figure out which features actually matter to people.
• Preventing abuse: detecting fraud, enforcing our terms of service, and keeping the platform safe for artists and fans.

Who We Share Data With

We don't sell your personal information. Full stop. We share data only with the service providers that help us run SongRave:

• Stripe: payment processing, identity verification for artists receiving payouts, and fraud prevention.
• Google Analytics: anonymized website usage data to help us understand how visitors interact with our site. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Cloud hosting providers: our servers and databases run on third-party infrastructure, which means your data is stored on their hardware. These providers are contractually bound to protect it.

If we're ever required to share information with law enforcement (by subpoena, court order, or applicable law), we'll comply. We'll notify you if we're legally permitted to do so.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working (sessions, security tokens). Google Analytics sets its own cookies to track visits across pages. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies in settings, though blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.

Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your data, we'll remove it within 30 days. Some information (like transaction records) may be retained longer where we have a legal obligation to do so, such as tax records. Waitlist data for people who never convert to full accounts is purged periodically.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights over your personal data. Here are the ones we honor regardless of your location:

• Access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: if something's wrong, let us know and we'll fix it.
• Deletion: you can ask us to delete your personal data. Email us at privacy@songrave.com and we'll process your request within 30 days. We'll confirm once it's done.
• Portability: you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt out of marketing: unsubscribe from any email, or contact us and we'll handle it.

For California residents (CCPA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front. But the right is yours all the same.

For users in the EU/UK (GDPR)

Our lawful basis for processing your data is consent (you gave us your email to join the waitlist) and legitimate interest (running the platform, preventing fraud). You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

SongRave is not directed at anyone under 13 years old, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@songrave.com and we'll delete it promptly.

Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypt data at rest where appropriate, and limit internal access to personal data to the people who need it to keep the service running. No system is bulletproof, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and we'll notify affected users if a breach ever occurs.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and notify you by email. Minor clarifications or formatting changes won't trigger a notification, but the effective date at the top will always reflect the latest revision.
